2021 Convocation: UI Management Visits UIMC for Special Jumat Service
University of Ibadan Muslim Community received the Principal members of the University Management at the Islamic Centre, University of Ibadan immediately after Jumat Service on Friday 12th of November, 2021 to commence 2021 Convocation and 73rd Foundation Day Ceremonies of the University.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode Adebowale who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Professor Ezekiel Ayoola, Dr. Aderonke Bayeroku, Dr. Yemisi A Bamgbose representing the Registrar of the School, Dr. Olubunmi O. Faluyi, the Bursar, Dr. Isiaka Olaide Oluola, and a few other Principals of the Management were welcomed by the community at the Islamic Centre, University of Ibadan.
In the Opening Address of the President, Governing Board UIMC, Professor M.A Onilude, welcomed the Vice-Chancellor and other members of the School management and expressed his gratitude to Almighty Allah for witnessing another convocation ceremony.
He pledged the loyalty of the community to the new management and assured them of continuity of prayers for the success of their administration.
In the speech of the Vice-Chancellor, through the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Professor Ayoola thanked the UI Muslim Community and solicited their support and cooperation in his administration.
"The UI Muslim Community should not hesitate to ask for whatever is needed for the students and the development of the community at large," Professor Ayoola relayed the message of the Vice-Chancellor.
The Convocation Prayer was thereafter led by the Chief Imam of the University, Professor Abdurrahman Oloyede as the congregation joined in praying for the university.
On the course of the Vote of Thanks, Professor Yusuf, the Vice Chairman of UIMC appreciated everyone who had witnessed the session and prayed for a successful return to their destinations.
The programme which was anchored by Prof T.O Lamidi ended with a photo session between the Muslim Community and the University Management.
In attendance at the reception were the Chief Imam of the University, Professor Abdurrahman Oloyede, the President of Governing board UIMC, Professor M.A Onilude, Head of Department, Department of Arabic and Islamic studies, Professor, L.O Abass.
Other members of the Muslim community that were present; Professor S.A Yusuf, the Vice-Chairman, UIMC Executive Council, the General Secretary, Mr. S. O Oyewumi, Chairman Mosque Development Committee, Professor A. A Bello, Chairman Mosque Committee, Dr. Ajagbe, and many other members of the Muslim Community.

Church Service at the Chapel of Resurrection and Rehearsals at the International Conference Centre on Sunday 14th November 2021;
Day 1: Convocation/Award of First Degrees and Student L&DS Jaw War at the International Conference Centre on Monday 15th November;
Day 2: Convocation/Award of Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) and Master Degrees, Convocation Lecture: “The Prospects and Challenges of a World Class University in the Nigerian Context Today” by Aare Afe Babalola, SAN at Trenchard Hall and Command Performance at the Wole Soyinka Theatre on Tuesday 16th November;
Foundation Day Celebration/Award of Doctorate Degrees on Wednesday 17th November 2021.
