The Muslim Students' Society of Nigeria, University of Ibadan branch, through the Prison Yard Vistation Committee(PYVC) declared her intention to start her annual Iftaar programme for the inmates of Agodi Correctional Centre, yesterday, 20th April, 2020.

The iftaar programme is a continuation of the time-to-time succour being given to the inmates by the committee. The programme started today, Wednesday the 21st of April, 2021 and it's expected to hold through the days of Ramadan- Wednesdays and Saturdays. t

According to the chairman of the committee, Adetoyese Amonatullah, "Paying visit to the Muslim Inmates at Agodi Correctional Service Center is one of the duties of the Committee of which Providing Iftar during the month of RAMADAN twice a week(i.e. every Wednesdays and Saturdays) is key,"

"One of those visitations was that of today where Cooked food and relief materials(such as toothpaste,toothbrush,bathing soap,slippers etc) are donated to the inmates. This is done to give the inmate a sense of belonging likewise get an insight on their needs and where the committee can render assistance," he added.

He concluded with, "Our visits also give hope to the inmate and reassurance that trial isn't the end of life. When life knock you down,you must rise up and fight it off,"
