"Muslim Students are Warned Against Three Enemies of Academic and Spiritual Progress" - MSSNUI Former Amir.

Ajibola Mojeed

Former Amir of the Muslim Students' Society of Nigeria, University of Ibadan branch, Ustadh Alli AbdulSalam has warned the Muslim students to stay away from listening to Music, watching too much of movies, and indulging in a nuptial relationship because indulging in any of these retard the students' progress both in Academics and Spiritual aspects of life.

Ustadh Alli gave this warning while delivering his lecture titled " Responsibilities of Muslim Students in Nigerian Universities" during the weekly Enlightenment Programme held at the Central Mosque of the University last Tuesday, 15th of February, 2022.

Relating his experience on Campus, the former Amir stressed a lot about how hardworking students lost focus by associating with the wrong folks on campus.

He, therefore, urged the audience to stay away from any friend who discourages them from reading and make friends with only Muslims but be of good behaviour with Non-Muslim colleagues on campus to not corrupt them religiously as Muslims.

"And, be sober whenever you miss Solat in congregation. Truly, there is no how you won't miss Solat on campus but never take it as an excuse. Also, take your morning and evening Adhkar very seriously and minimize the use of social media so as to excel as Muslim students." He added.

Dawah Enlightenment is one of the weekly programmes set aside for discussing contemporary issues in our society by the Muslim Students' Society of Nigeria, University of Ibadan branch.
