Prevention is better than cure, make smart decision – University of Ibadan Health Service (UHS)
The University of Ibadan Health Service (UHS), in a special bulletin released on Monday 30 August, 2021, by the Institution’s Registrar, Dr Olubunmi O Faluyi on the need for every Student snd employee of the University to get vaccinated. Speaking on the need to get vaccinated, the UHS explained that generally, injecting of vaccines help creates antibodies that weakens a virus. This antibodies stay for longer duration in human body while protecting the body from subsequent attack from a virus.
The UHS explained that the vaccines are not totally effective for Covid 19 but it will help reduce the severity of the virus if later contacted. This assertion was further supported with statistics of Covid 19 deaths in USA connected with those unvaccinated.
The information given by the UHS further emphasized the need for taking the Covid 19 shot by showing a chart that shows the reduction of Covid 19 in UK after the waves of the Covid 19 vaccines.
While charging every Student and staff to get vaccinated, the Institution’s Health Service further debunked any myth associated with the Covid-19 vaccines.
The UHS explained that the vaccines is safe and enjoined people to discard the thought of anyone dying after two years of getting the vaccine, likewise, the believe that the Covid -19 vaccines causes infertility.
The UCH pointed out how the vaccine does not affect reproductive organs.Finally, the NHS implore everyone to make a smart and safe decision that better protect them as ‘prevention is better than cure’.
