“Jesus was neither killed nor crucified” – Professor Oloyede

In contrast to erroneous beliefs of adherents of some faith that ‘Issa, son of Maryam, was crucified and resurrected, Professor Abdulrahman Oloyede, the Chief Imam of University of Ibadan central mosque, has called on muslims to disregard such proclamation in his Friday sermon

In today's sermon, the Imam urged Muslims to hold steady the rope of Allah and abide by His words as Allah has decreed worship to him and to no other. He admonished Muslims to disregard the belief in the trinity of Jesus.

He corroborated this by citing Qur’an 4:156-158 which states,

“And for their unbelief and for having uttered against Maryam a grievous calumny. And their sayings, surely, we have killed the Messiah, Is a son of Maryam, the apostle of Allah and they did not kill him nor did they crucify him, but it appeared to them so (like Isa) and most surely those who differ therein are only in a doubt about it, they have no knowledge respecting it, but only follow a conjecture, and they killed him not for sure. Nay! Allah took him up to Himself; and Allah is Mighty and Wise”

In his words, Allah proclaims His Oneness and forbids His mercy to anyone who pluralises or worship other than Him.

He further admonished Muslims to exercise patience in the face of challenges as Allah has promised relief after every challenge.
