Professor Oloyede, the Chief Imam University of Ibadan Central Mosque, has charged students to be more vigilant in their daily activities. He created this awareness in the last part of his last Friday Sermon. He went on to say that aside his call for the students to be more vigilant, necessary preventive measures will be put in place around the mosque itself.
The Imam drew his pre-emption from the recent trends of confession from one of the arrested top leaders of the Boko Haram sect. in this confession, it was realized that hundreds of Boko Haram members already infiltrated the South West of Nigeria. Based on past experiences, it was therefore inferred that educational and religious centres are prone to attacks. As a result, activities and tests put in place by security agents showed that the University of Ibadan Central Mosque happen to be the most vulnerable.
