NIMechE UI Hold Their First Conference

On Monday, 6th November, 2017, the Nigerian Institute of Mechanical Engineers, University of Ibadan Branch (NIMechEUI), held, at the Trenchard Hall, their first conference which had, in special attendance, the 1987 set.

The conference was tagged ‘Mechanical Engineering: Past Present Future’ and also had, as part of its programme, career talks from some alumni of 1987 and for this year’s final year (500 level) students of the Department.

“All Religions Profess Peace; It Just Depends On The Doctrine Or Approach To It” – Prof Olayinka.

The University of Ibadan Vice Chancellor, Prof. A.I. Olayinka, while giving his remarks after the Jumhat service on Friday held at the University Central Mosque, declared that, “All religions profess peace; it just depends on the doctrine or approach to it”
This statement was made by the honourable VC as he expressed gratitude to the UIMC for their support, and seized the medium to felicitate with the convoking students.

UI VC Urges Muslims To Continue To Uphold Their Emblem Of Peace And Stability

The University of Ibadan Vice Chancellor has appraised the efforts of Muslims on campus in upholding peace and stability in the University environ. He therefore has urged Muslims to continue to gallop on this stride.

He made this declaration at the convocation special Jummat prayer held at the Central Mosque on the 10th November, 2017. The Vice Chancellor also appreciated the effort of the Muslim community in facilitating peace and stability on campus. He then promised that equity, fairness and justice would be giving to every individual on campus regardless of their faith.

UI Marks The Commencement Of Her 69th Anniversary With Special Convocation Prayer At The UI Central Mosque

The programme started officially after the two rakat jummah prayer lead by the chief IMAM, Prof Abdurrahman Oloyede. In attendance were dignitaries of high personalities both from the school management and the Ibadan Muslim Community. Some of those present were Prof Akingbile, Prof Abdulrahman Akinoso from the Faculty of Technology, the University Librarian, Prof. Aishat, Prof M.T Lamidi, the Publicity Secretary, UI Muslim Community and host of others.

Three students of the prestigious University of Ibadan: Adetula David, Asudemade Habeebulah and Fasiku Adekolajo of the College of Medicine, Faculty of Law, and Faculty of Arts respectively dazzled at the world Maritime Day/NIMASA Competition Awards which was held on Monday, 30th October, 2017 at Eko Hotels and Suites.

PROFESSOR MILLICENT DELIVERS UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN 420th INAUGURAL LECTURE

Professor Millicent has delivered the 420th Inaugural lecture of the session on behalf of the Faculty of Clinical Sciences on the 26th. October, 2017 at Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan, on the topic: Cross Sectional Imaging: Slicing without knives, giving live to shadows.

INSTALLATION OF NEW ARTWORK COMMENCES ALONG ODUDUWA ROAD

A yet to be unveiled artwork has been installed along Oduduwa road, University of Ibadan. The installation which commenced last week started by the construction of the artwork stand. Even though it is still being enshrouded, it is likely to be a head considering its structure. This new artwork will be the second of its kind along Oduduwa road.

The Ameer of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, UI Chapter, has called on everyone to find lasting solution to the many problems faced by Muslims on campus by everyone’s collective effort and support. He made this known in the Consultative Forum held at the Society’s secretariat on Saturday, 28 October, 2017, where all the stakeholders of the society discussed the trending issues concerning Muslim students on campus.
